Challenge — TCG designed plans for the College of Charleston's new Addlestone Library to meet the needs of three separate groups within the college environment, that provide telecommunications services to the campus. Prior to this design, each group worked separetely with separate telecom facilities, equipment, and termination fields.

Through extensive meetings and discovery through site visits, The Chickasaw Group developed a conceptual design to provide the necessary services to meet the needs of the students and faculty, plus a design to accommodate all three groups within one termination field. This design approach is now being implemented for all facilities throught the campus.

TCG met with the builder, the architech, and engineers to implement the new design within the construction process. Through cafeful study of the plans, on-site inspections, and careful coordination during construction, the building process was a success and The Chickasaw Group received rave reviews for the design and project management contributions.

The project was taken from conceptual design to implementation by TCG staff.

TCG compiled a detailed scope of work document, drawings, and pricing sheets. We also assisted the College with the procurement of a qualified telecommunications contractor to install the telecom design for the new library.

The design implementation was completed by our collaboration on a weekly basis with the College, the builder, and the winning teleocm contractor.

Today, through a combination of wireless and wired technologies, the new Addlestone Library technology is in big demand by the students and those that visit.
